The Gardens
There are two special gardens on our grounds. The Brents Garden is in the courtyard, and features a stone Celtic cross. It was given by Tom Brents in memory of his wife, Esther, and was originally circular in shape. After construction of the new building, the garden was moved to compliment the south wall of the sanctuary. Tom died in 2002 at the age of 102.
The Alexander-Turner Meditation Garden is on the east side of the building, near the children’s playground. It is a gift of Jerry and Sherri Alexander, and was given in memory of his parents and in honor of hers. Its design is based on a “triquetra,” which was used by the early church as a symbol of the Trinity. It consists of three equal, interweaving arcs, which symbolize God’s eternity and indivisibility. The words “faith,” “hope,” and “love” are inscribed on flat stones, which mark the points of triangle in the center.
