ce_wow_v2_200_263.gifTeachers prepare children for participating in worship.  Kindergarten children begin learning about the sacraments of baptism & communion, parts of worship and memorizing congregational responses.

First Grade children experience reinforcement of what they learned the previous year and begin attending worship services.

At the end of this two year program, First Grade children receive a small hand carved cross.  This tradition was begun by Jess Spoonts who always role modeled “shining your light.”  Doug Gill learned from Jess’s example and continues the tradition of presenting hand-carved crosses to our First Graders.

Supplemental curriculum for this class:
Virtue of the Week: children learn about gifts of virtues that God has provided and try to practice each one at home during the week and we also use the Presbyterian curriculum, We Believe.
