Parlor Class

A GOLDEN THREAD OF JUSTICE

Led by Dr. Robert Foster

Most of us know that the Lord requires: "Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."  This vision is not just the word of the prophets, but a call throughout the whole biblical text.  It is a justice that intends to shape the people as they enter the promised land, is foundational to understanding the gospel preached by Jesus, and underscores Paul's letter to the Romans.  Come and catch the biblical vision of justice and consider its implications for the people of God in the 21st-century.

THINKING ABOUT GOD

Led by Jerry Henson

Who or what is God? Do traditional beliefs and definitions align with

religious experience? Are they biblical? Are they reasonable? Might some of our forebears in the faith have made mistakes? Which ones got it right and which got it wrong? How can we know? Why does it matter?

We will examine traditional and contemporary ideas of God, how they

developed, and whether they are theologically and religiously adequate.
